The Firm

Inflection Architecture is an award-winning Houston-based architectural practice that seeks to bring JOY, COMFORT, and SUPPORT to people’s lives, their relationships, and best future.

Through a design process that centers intently on study of CLIENT, SITE, LIGHT, and DETAIL the practice has a reputation for creating work that is balanced, scaled, and gracious; with life and breath through natural light; that reflects each client’s unique voice and values.

Way of life and relationships are the center of a collaborative design process which culminates in comfortable spaces across the entire site, outdoor as well as in; whether the budget is large or small.

Inflection Architecture is certified as both a City of Houston Women Business Enterprise and a State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business.

Our Team

Kristin Schuster, AIA LEED AP

Kristin Schuster, AIA is founding Principal of Inflection Architecture. She is a licensed architect in the State of Texas and a LEED Accredited Professional. Kristin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Tufts University and a Master of Architecture from Rice University in 2003.

Prior to founding Inflection Architecture, her award-winning design work included single-family residential projects, multi-family affordable housing developments, luxury retail, and cultural institutions.

She currently serves on the Publications Committee for the Texas Society of Architects, as a Mentor in the Rice Architecture Mentorship Program, and as Chair of the AIA Houston Residential Committee, coordinating the annual AIA Houston Home Tour.

Kristin is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston College of Architecture and Design, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate design studio.

Liliana Bravo, Assoc. AIA

Liliana as been a part of the team at Inflection Architecture since the spring of 2019, when she joined as a student prior to receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Houston. She participates in the AIA Houston Chapter of Latinos in Architecture where she works to strengthen relationships with and within our profession and community.

In addition to keeping this team organized and running smoothly, she is currently working toward professional licensure. Her contagious enthusiasm keeps our spirits lifted as we all work to bring our clients’ spaces to life.

Justin Fan, Assoc. AIA

Justin holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University. Of the many accolades he has earned, he says he is probably most proud to have been awarded the Margaret Everson-Fossi Travel Fellowship and the William Ward Watkin Travel Fellowship.

His professional experience prior to joining Inflection Architecture spans single-family residential projects and cultural institutions, including time spent “obsessively detailing” an international art museum. Justin speaks three languages, and while he works to complete the final requirements for professional licensure, he continues to travel extensively and take beautiful photographs.

After he explained that zlicowane is the Polish word to call out a flush condition, we promised him that we plan to continue annotating our construction documents in English.

Christopher Torres, NOMAS

Christopher joined Inflection Architecture after Kristin sat as a juror for his final student review in Spring of 2022, which he may or may not have realized was also a job interview. Chris is completing his thesis for his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Houston, where he serves as Co-president of the University chapter of National Organization of Minority Architecture Students and participates in the Student chapter of the AIA. He was awarded the Zeigler Travel Fellowship Award in 2024.

Christopher says working in the office while in school gives him a broader perspective on the discipline. He enjoys watching the way everyone on the team brings their unique strengths to our client’s projects.

He has not worn matching socks since 2016.
